Roaster's Choice for Aeropress
AEROPRESS
What you need:
- Aeropress
- Aeropress filters
- Aeropress paddle
- Scale
- Water Kettle
- Cold filtered water
- Timer
- Thermometer (Optional)
- Fine ground Praxis coffee (like table salt)
- Muscles
- 5 mins of your time
Let's brew...
Praxis Coffee uses a 14:1 water to coffee ratio.
First, bring your cold filtered water to 202° F. While your water is coming to a boil, go ahead and grind your Praxis coffee to a fine grind (similar to table salt). Place your aeropress filter inside the aeropress basket. Once your water has reached 202° F, give your aeropress filter a quick rinse to remove any paper taste that could end up in your cup. Dump your rinse water.
Pour your ground coffee in the aeropress carefully. In a circular motion, pour the total amount of water, saturating all the grounds evenly. After you've poured your total water, give the coffee slurry (coffee and water mixture) a quick stir with the paddle. Then place the plunger on top of the aeropress without pressing down. At 1:45 minutes, press the aeropress down gently yet firmly into your mug.
Cheers!
